Religious education is still a legal requirement in most state run schools. Each council sets its own requirement for schools to follow, and at Alfreton Park we closely follow the Derbyshire guidelines.
Throughout their school career, each pupil will learn something about the five main world faiths.
Class one concentrate on the concept of belonging, learning about families and friends and why belonging is important.
Much of our R.E. is presented in a sensory and practical way, and visits are often arranged to places of worship.
Pupils enjoy the food, music and art associated with faith celebrations and festivals.
It is our hope that as well as learning to respect other people and their beliefs, our pupils learn that they too are worthy of respect.
