Erasmus / Comenius Trips

At Alfreton Park School we have completed Comenius projects.

Comenius is now know as ‘The Erasmus Programme (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) and is a European Union (EU)student exchange programme established in 1987.These projects are funded through the British Council.’

Each of our projects has been around he Art – ‘Perspectives of Light and Dark’, ‘Recycled Sculpture’ and now ‘Save our Songs’.

Though these projects we formed partnerships with special schools in other European countries and work on common projects. Groups of pupils and staff visit our partner schools and they visit us.

These visits enable our pupils to develop a knowledge and understanding of other countries, cultures and languages. Pupils benefit from European travel opportunities and have lots of fun experiencing the art and cultural activities, and cuisine of the countries. The gains pupils make in confidence, independence and skills development are marked and long lasting.

We will be applying for funding for a new project this year.
