Hello, I am Sharon Walker and I am the Family Support at Alfreton Park Special School.
My role within school is to work closely with pupils and families providing help and support if required.
I begin my work with families from the point they contact school to arrange a visit with me to look around school .If a place is allocated, I support the family through the transition process into our school and become a link between home and school.
I run regular parent /carer workshops on a variety of topics and also a general chat/ coffee morning!! The social events I organise are very popular from Family discos to shopping trips and summer trips to the seaside!
I am always available to offer help and support and if I am unable to directly help I will contact the relevant agencies who may be able to.
On Friday 3rd March 9:30am – 11:30am we will be holding an informal session for parents, carers and anyone who is interested in the subject of Puberty, Sexuality and Relationships – supporting your child/young person.
Dr Sarah Oliver – Clinical Psychologist from LD CAMHS will be delivering the session. This should prove to be a very interesting and informative session as I know it is an area that many parents/carers have questions around. I hope you are able to join us.
If you are able to attend please contact me at school. I look forward to seeing you !!
